The Movement is hosting a two-part workshop series about Human and Sex Trafficking. The first session will focus on international trafficking. The second session will bring light to trafficking in the US. You are not required to attend both sessions, but it is encouraged.
At least 12.3 million people are victims of forced labor worldwide. Of these, 2.4 million are forced into labor as a result of human trafficking. The purpose of this workshop is to shed light on the serious perpetuation of human trafficking around the world. Many of us are ignorant of its impact, but human trafficking is in fact the fastest growing means by which people are enslaved, the fastest growing international crime, and one of the largest sources of income for organized crime.
The Movement is a trained group of male and female N.C. State student activists and peer education leaders available to facilitate workshops on the prevention of sexual and relationship violence including stalking and cyberstalking. Our approach to prevention is to change our culture to become a place in which all forms of interpersonal violence are not tolerated. Through encouraging all members of the N.C. State community to speak up when they witness potential behaviors or comments that could lead to an act of sexual or relationship violence, The Movement believes that true change will occur.
